I received Tess as a birthday present in 1981, she was just a little ball of black fur with white tipped ears,as she got older the tips disappeared.
Over the next 19 years she was a constant companion and Queen of the house. She seemed to love everyone with very few exceptions, one of those being the vet.
She then would turn into a demon cat and was honored with a warning sticker on her file.
As she got older she became more like a little old lady, so set in her ways, when I would look at her I would see her as a young cat and not as the older one she had become.
Its been five years since she went on her final journey, and not a day goes by that I still dont miss her. The day I picked her ashes up was also the same day I took in two new cats, Quincy and Lucy, both now 5 yrs old, Tess set a standard that both of them have to live up to, and are doing quite well at it.
While I still miss Tess, I can’t imagine not having these two, I’d like to say that Tess would have loved them, but she was an only pet, and like I said Queen of the house.
She was my first pet as an adult, and as it turned out she was the best birthday present I have ever received, the 19 yrs she was with me went by in the blink of an eye.
I know that one day Tess, Quincy, Lucy and I will all be together, Tess is just waiting until that day comes.
still missing Tess
