The best thing that ever happened to me was meeting you in the SPCA in Ottawa. Your little white arm reached out to me from your cage and you kept calling to me. “I’m Yours” you said. I asked to be able to hold you and you kissed me all over. There was never a time when you weren’t just one big furry bundle of love.
When you started to get sick I hoped you were just getting old. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make you better. Your cancer moved fast and took you so soon. It broke my heart when you couldn’t walk anymore. Now in heaven I know you can run and jump again. I hope you are somewhere where there are flowers and butterflies to chase, or some tar sand beetles for you to terrorize.
We are going to make a garden in the back yard that will always be our spot to go and think of you. I always hoped that I would have you with me for another full decade. I know I will see you again and will be thinking of you. There will never be another pet like you. You did a good job sweetie, the job you were meant to do which was to love us and accept our love in return. I am forever grateful for your love.
I met you at Valentines and I lost you at Valentines. Every year on February 15th will be our “Tigger Day”.
We will miss you every day,
