Tommy knew how to fetch paper and rubber balls thrown to him.
I never taught him how he just did it. One of his favorite games
was to throw rubber balls to him from the top of the stairs
and have him bring them back to me.
He could play that for hours. He also liked to jump up in
the air and catch the balls-sometimes he would jump about three
feet in the air catch the ball and spin around to catch them.
All I had to say was “go get it and he was off like a shot.
He also liked to wait for the mail to drop in the slot on the door.
He would wait until he heard the postman’s cart coming down
the street then run to the top of the stairs till he heard it come to
our side of the street.
As soon as he heard the post man come up on the porch
off he would go and wait for it to drop on the floor.
He made me laugh each time he did it!.
