The following is a newspaper pet memoriam that our daughter wrote on February 15 2001 for Tootise one month after we buried her at the lake:
Grief and loss is what I feel for you
Since your passing much too soon
Forever in our hearts you will be
Not just a pet but a family member
I express my feelings to you
So that you don’t feel alone
I love you very much and cry everyday.
Just know that we love you and we hope you are happy and comfortable in your resting place.
Goodbye Tootise.
