Sam was a part of our family for just over seven years. He was a healthy and happy little dog. Then one day we noticed he was missing for a short time. Later we found out he somehow had went through the fence and into the neighbor’s yard. They have two very large dogs. Their fence was in need of repairs. We had to cover a couple of places ourselves so Sam could not go through. It seems possible that their dog had dug under the fence leaving enough space Sam to slip through.:( He did not seem to be hurt very much that first day it happened. However as time progressed his condition worsened. Long story short he had internal injuries and just did not recover. We are all upset about the loss of part of our family. Especially our oldest son. He was so angry with the neighbors and their dogs. We did allow him to express his anger and hurt. We also explained that this was an unfortunate accident and really no one is to blame. I am sure it will take time for him to sort out his feelings.
We sure do miss our little “loud mouth furry ankle biter”!:) Our lives just won’t be the same without Sam.
