Casey was more than just my pet. He was my best friend, my companion, my confident. He was found in a sewer when he was 2 months old and I was the lucky one to be able to have him come to live with me. I have had him for 17 years and 8 months. He was only a few weeks away from being 18. He had some kidney problems for a few years, but did not require treatment, just monitoring. Then last fall he suffered retinal detachment due to high blood pressure and after many trips to a specialist we got the right combination of medication and his eyesight returned and he was back to his old self again.
Then Mon (5/16) I noticed a problem in his walking, took him the vet, rushed him to a vet ER. He would not recover–
he had severe kidney failure.
He was a special cat and had a special way of communicating with me to let me know exactly what he wanted and when he wanted it. He was understanding if I was late getting home or was gone too much, and he helped me when I was recovering from surgery.
I know he is in a good place now, but I will miss Casey (Mr. C as I sometimes called him) very much.
I will love you forever!
