Patch, you brought so much love and joy to all of our lives for almost 17 years.
I can still remember that day when daddy and Amanda brought you home from the pet shop. I fell in love with you the moment I saw you.
You were the cuttest little light brown puppy I had ever seen. We all fell in love with you from the first moment we saw you.
We all took such good care of you in exchange for all the love you brought into our lives. I remember Gino taking you for walks along the river and just how much you and he enjoyed that.
I will miss you always being behind me when I would be cooking. You were always the first to taste my meals and loved everything I cooked. You will always hold that special place in our hearts.
I know that Gino was there to greet you with open arms when you passed away last night. In a way I am so happy to know that you are both together again.
Thank you for bringing so much love and happiness into our home for all these years.

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor….
then I remember,
it’s where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound….
then I remember,
It’s where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can’t be yours….
your golden voice is still.
But I’ll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I’ll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.
