The doctor’s words were hard to hear,
The pain I felt – too much to bear.

And yet I knew I had to do
this one last thing for only you.

So calm I stayed to carry you,
into the room, and get you through.

I held you very close to me,
and whispered words of love softly.

Too soon you went silent and still,
and then my tears began to spill.

I miss you badly, my sweet Teddy bear,
It seems all wrong – it seems unfair.

But life must end, tragic but true,
Thank you for letting me love you.
