The Trash can cat.
He started life as a trash can cat
discarded, unwanted and yet;
was found and love for a while
until that union was broken.
I met that cat named Satch so long ago
he became my family and friend.
We shared holidays and summers and fall.
He with the coldest nose of all
gave love with no words,
no words needed at all.
A gourmet chicken lover he sampled it all.
The years took their toll on good old Satchie pooka,
but his spirit never gave up
until the day when he said
no words spoken
no words needed at all enough..it’s enough
so I stood by his side
and kissed his golden sweet head
and the trash can cat
went to sleep as a prince.
