Susie

Susie a black Cockapoo

was given to my husband for his birthday one month

after he and I met. She was only six weeks old

so we all started our journey together.

Susie was born in Spain where we were both stationed in

the military. She was our constant companion.

She would ride behind me on a motor-ped (small motorcycle)

with her ears flapping in the wind.

She went on trips with us quite content to hide in the

bottom of a canvas bag when we smuggled her into a hotel room.

She flew home over the Atlantic when we left Spain.

She was a good mother – she even nursed an abandoned

litter of kittens.

Susie would have been 17 years old on April 15,1999 but she

got so bad with liver problems and arthritis we reluctantly

decided to put her to sleep instead of her suffering more.

She died in my/our arms. She was our best friend and we

miss her so much. I hope she knows our decision

was a difficult one and for her best interest.

My sister and father passed away two years ago so

Susie has someone familiar to keep her company.
