German Shepherd Mix

Our family had gotten Kimberly when she was just 10 months old
and I was 3 years old. She was my little sister.
She was the best little sister anyone could ask for.
She was loving playful stubborn the best.
She had been through so much through her life but
always found the strength to get better.
She had gotten arthritis in her hip when she was around 10
but she didn’t let it bother her.
When she was 12 she had almost cut her foot off because of the mischief
she always got in. Once again she didn’t let it bother her.
Once she healed she was back to her “puppy” like self again.
No matter how old she got she looked and acted like she was young.
In February 2001 we found a growth in her mouth and brought her to the vets
she was diagnosed with cancer. The vets said it would spread through her body
and eventually go to her lungs and soon kill her.
He gave her no more than 2 months to live. But he was wrong the cancer
went into remission and wasn’t seen again.
In July she had sprained he front ankle. That’s when it went downhill from there.
She started having a very hard time walking but the vets said that it was just
a sprained ankle and it should heal but never did. Finally in the beginning of
August she had a major injury and couldn’t walk at all and once again had to
be brought back to the vets.
He had said that she had heat stroke and her muscle were deteriorating
and if we kept her cool and hydrated she would get better.
Two days later she did the same but even worse.
That’s when I got a phone call in my car from my mom saying its time.
I spent 14 years with this precious creature and all at once have it all taken
way from me. I didn’t get there in time to say good-bye.
But she meant the world to me.
Kimmy you will be missed soooo incredibly much.
My heart aches when I think I can’t see you when I wake up in the morning
or come home from school or at anytime.
But to think of the joy you brought to my life for those
14 years gives me comfort.
I love you so much.
I’ll see you at the gates of heaven.
