My dear Houdini was so young. I bought him at the tender age of Six weeks. He was quite big, and very furry. He had very big eyes, and gazed at you with a fresh look of curiosity at the big world around him. He was always bubbly when he was awake, jumping around. Once he burst the doors of his cage open and roamed the room, my young pet cat watching over him with a withheld feeling of love and
care in her eyes.
Sadly, this morning, Houdini passed away. He was so young. Unfortunately, his death was not a pleasant one at all. He was shocked, as his doors were jammed. As I opened them, he leaped away in fear and broke his back. There he lay, trying to move for over an hour. I cried the whole time, assuring myself he had simply hurt
his arm a little bit.
We took him to the Vets at this time, as it had only just opened. I’m not too fond of my dad – he didn’t care for the dear thing at all. He simply grumbled about it, in a rush to go
back to work.
In the end, the vets said that they would try to do something for it. However, these chances were slim, and I came
to a feeling of acceptance.
By then, I had stopped crying. However, I received a phone call about fifteen minutes ago – they were asking
my permission to put it down.
My dear Houdini was released to Hammy Heaven at the tender age of Nine Weeks. I was not there to see, though I wish I had been. Wherever he is now, I hope his pain is gone and he is happy.
All my Love, Houdini. I wish you well.
