Max was given to us a week before we got married. He was our baby. We had him 4 years before we had our first daughter in 2001. He was very good with her. He was a jumper. He was very hyper. Never wanting to slow down. He had so much energy. I got pregnant and had our 2nd daughter in 2004. We moved to a new home in the country in June 2004.
We were on our street coming home (8pm) and was almost to our driveway when we noticed the car in front of us hit her brakes and seen her hit “something”. We hurried and backed out of our driveway and got down there. My husband got out of the car to see what she hit. At first it looked like a small deer. Then I saw my husband’s face and I knew it was our Max. Somehow he had jumped out of his pen (outside) and wandered the neighborhood. With us being new to the neighborhood the “neighbors” just told him to go away. He was on his way back home when he got hit. We rushed him to the animal hospital (15-20 min away).
The vet told us that he didn’t’ even know what hit him and he was gone like that. I was so devastated that I could hardly move. We brought him home and buried him in our back yard. I miss him everyday. I know he’s in good hands right now.
Never forgotten,
