Little Punk was what one would call a runt when we saw her with her litter mates. She won my heart when she stuck her nose out to my oldest son like she was saying, What’s up?. We took her home and fell in love with her. She was a very good puppy, very funny and comical. Her life was not an easy one. She had health problems from the 1st year. She spent a lot of time at the vets for one thing after another. No matter how well she was taken care of,
she was always having some health problem.
When she turned 10, she was diagnosed with kidney failure. She sat like a trooper when I had to give her sub-q fluids which I know hurt, but she knew I was trying to help her. She did well on the treatments. Then, she started having problems with her back legs. I took her to an orthopaedic surgeon and he said she had a herniated disc. So, $3,200.00 later she was back to walking. She did great for 5 weeks and then had a relapse. She had no control of her body functions and was in such pain.
The doctor said there was nothing else to be done for her. We made the heartbreaking decision to help her to the Rainbow Bridge. After that, we put her in her pink blanket and her favorite toys and buried her in the back yard that she loved.
There is a marker there now where her little body is, but I hope to see her one day in heaven. She was a sweet, smart, funny, sassy little girl and I miss her so much it hurts. Run on brave girl. Mama’s gonna meet you at the Rainbow Bridge one day and we’ll be together forever.
Love you. Mama
We love you Punkin Pie,
