Losing Mac was one of the most difficult experiences in my life.

It is not comparable to human loss but equally as sad and painful.

Mac was a Greyhound I rescued at a time in my life when I was

truly ready to have my first dog. I was newly married and at the time

had no children so he instantly became my “Baby Boy”.

He seemed to appreciate the fact that he had finally found a loving

environment where everyone who knew him loved him.

Mac was a funny boy who always got me to laugh because he

knew I’d never care too much when he chewed everything in

his path or when he’d cry for me to get him up on the couch

and scratch his ears.

We had Mac for 4 terrific years and had also adopted a second

Greyhound for companionship. In March of 2000 Mac looked hurt

and when we had his leg looked at we were devastated to

learn he had inoperable bone cancer and had to put him to sleep.

I often wonder how my two children would have loved to grow

up with Mac and miss him a whole lot but I am glad he no longer

suffers.

This website has been my healing experience this past year

and no matter how much time goes by I will continue to be

here for support.

Not everyone understands this kind of loss.

Thank you for the site!
