Abby Bella by The Family / All of us

I remember the first day we brought her home…we were all so excited. She was the cutest and sweetest thing that you ever did see. She got along great with out other dog and cats…like they had known each other forever! One day we discovered that our trees had spidermites and had to have then treated. They were treated, and we thought everything was fine and good until Abby Bella started to have indigestion.

My mom who was screaming and crying rushed her to the pet hospital as soon as she could. All night we waited up. We were too anxious to sleep. Would she make it through the night all by herself? In the morning we received a phone call that she had made it! Hooray! We even took a picture of the “happiest day of our life.”

We rushed over to see her, but when we got there, she hadn’t been doing so well. We told her we loved her, but the sight of her weakness made our hearts sink. We went home and waited, waited, and waited. Around 2, the vet called to say she was depressed. It was all downhill from there. At six she had died and it was so unbearable.

We threw things and my mom even broke a glass candleholder. My step went and got her, and we buried her (right under her favorite tree). All of us loved her more than anything.

Even though I had big tests to study for,
I would lay out in the kitchen with her
until she went to sleep. I never thought I’d be jealous of myself, but I am. I am jealous of my past…All I can say is that doctors will always give you false hope…

We will always love you, our beautiful little princess,
Abby Bella
