Yellow Labrador

This is for a gentle loving girl who never knew the meaning of

being for it was not in her vocabulary happy and loved everyone she met.

(waggly wiggly bum) My parents bought me when l was 14 weeks old,

l lived on a farm with all kinds of other pets horses cows and silly ol chickens

and other labs. My mother first saw me when l was about 10 weeks old

and she said l had eyes like jade so green and full of curiosity.

l came home to a new place in the city boy what a change farm dog to city dog .

There l met another lab he was 12 weeks old and his name was Benji all black

and a baby like me finally someone my size to play with — no more horses—

We became best buddies got into everything together shoes mommy wallet

ate her new coat so much fun all kinds of toys and cookies —

oh what heaven and lots of children to play with.

Soon daddy took us to camp play time….yahoo run jump and swimming,

diving for rocks and sticks …and best of all a warm fireplace to curl up

in front of —-life was grand.

OUR first Christmas was the best ever ate the presents before anyone

got a chance to open them ….well just the wrapping you know it did

have pretty color and fancy bows we just could not help our selves

and then on Christmas morning we got the biggest chew bone we

ever saw it was so big it took us two weeks to eat.

Benji and l became parents the following year — so much for birth control–

not –smiles we had 10 of the most beautiful babies 4 yellow 3 black

and 3 chocolate the perfect family,so we thought…..tradegy struck our house,

you see we lost 2 babies within 2 weeks two days apart.

l became ill 5 days later after giving birth to my children sick with infection

and high fevers and hemorrhaging l was taken to the vet and

he did emergency surgery on me .

He found one baby in me ……. l lived though it but just barely had a

blood transfusion and stayed in the hospital serious infection had set in.

MY human owners loved me and that was all that counted and

it gave me hope and they kept two of my babies.

My little one was so tiny he weighed 3.8 ozs and he was a twin —-

his name is Riley and so black like his father and my other baby Mocha-Bear,

he was a green eyed chocolate and looked like an angel so shy and bashful,

unfortunately he died because of myasthenia gravis —-march 15 1999 ….

l got sick again and this time l could not fight it as this disease

was called ADDISON’S DISEASE and it advanced and it weakened my heart .

l am gone but l know my daddy and mommy my best friend Benji

and my human boy will never forget me as l was loved and cherished .

My name is ANNA-BELLE ANDREWS EDDY

GOOD – BYE MY JADE .

WE WILL ALL SEE YOU AGAIN TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN
