I dreamed of you last night
your chocolate brown spaniel ears
flowing back behind you
your legs working fast circles
as you ran and ran and ran.
You were a pup again
your tongue hanging out with joy
living up to your springer spaniel name
you ran huge circles
around the park.
No more pain or indignities
for you my dear and loyal friend
and as I awoke with tears
falling down my face
I knew that you were ok now
and my tears of pain and sadness
were also tears of hope.
You will be remembered always dear friend with great love.
