A Coon Hunter’s Last Wish

I want to go where the coonhounds go
Where the moon doesn’t shine, and the wind is right,
That is where I want to go.
I want to go where the coonhounds go
Where the coons are thick, and the dogs are hot
That is where I want to go.
I want to go where the coonhounds go,
Where the bays are long and deep, and their sweet sound echos. You can hear their gorgeous sweet bays ring through the trees
That is where I want to go.
And when the hunt for life is over, and it’s time to say goodnight.. Please Lord make sure, that I am where the coonhounds are.
So I can keep them safe at night.

For Dad and Annie.
Godspeed Annie, you will be missed…………….
