Old dog in a locket.
That lies next to my heart

As I did right from the start.
You were right beside me
Through the darkest of my days.
It was your kind and gentle nature
That made me want to stay.
Now I hold you in my arms
Your breath still warm against my hand.

after all these years; I must say goodbye

I’m sitting right here; gently rubbing your ears while I talk to you softly; trying to hold back the tears. The memories you gave me; I’ll never forget especially the ones; of the day we first met.
One last hug; and one last kiss you have no idea; how much you’ll be missed.
