SAMMY

Old dog in a locket.
That lies next to my heart
I will always love you
As I did right from the start.
You were right beside me
Through the darkest of my days.
It was your kind and gentle nature
That made me want to stay.
Now I hold you in my arms
Your breath still warm against my hand.
Our hearts still beat together
And I wonder if you understand.
Through the hours that I held you
Before the light did leave your soul.
I knew a way to keep you
Forever in my hold.
I snipped the hair from around your eyes
So I would always see
The beauty that surrounds me
Even in times of need.
I snipped the hair from around your ears
So I would always hear
Music in the distance
To quiet all my fears.
I snipped the hair from around your back
To bring me strength in time of need
And the power in your essence
Would always be with me.
I snipped the hair from around your heart
That beat in time with mine.
So I’d know your love would find me
At some distant time.
And so your life slipped out of mine
On a quiet winter day
But I knew that a part of you
Was always here to stay.
Old dog in a locket.
That lays next to my heart
I will always love
Even though we had to part.
Love your dog,
Sammy

GOODBYE
With heavy hearts; and tears in my eyes
after all these years; I must say goodbye
Please understand; I’ve done all I could
if there was anything I could do; you know I would.
I’m sitting right here; gently rubbing your ears while I talk to you softly; trying to hold back the tears. The memories you gave me; I’ll never forget especially the ones; of the day we first met.
One last hug; and one last kiss you have no idea; how much you’ll be missed.
To look into your eyes; this one last time
you tell me it’s ok; you know it’s your time.
Close your eyes now; and go to sleep
I’ll pray to the Lord; you’re soul he’ll keep
Go in peace now; my good friend
I’ll stay right here with you; until the end.
Dream of that special day and time when we’ll meet at the Bridge; and all will be fine
We’ll run and play; side by side with a soft warm feeling; deep down inside
Your memory will live on; you’ll always be #1 to me, Have a safe journey; through the night
I promise when you awake; you’ll be in God’s light. So with heavy hearts; and tears in my eyes, just for now my friend; I say goodbye.

GOODBYE…

With a heavy heart and
tears in my eyes
after all these years
we must say goodbye.
Please understand
I’ve done all I could
if there was anything
I could do you know I would.

I’m sitting right here
gently rubbing your ears
While I talk to you softly
trying to hold back my tears
The memories you gave me;
I’ll never forget
especially the ones
of the day we first met.

One last hug;
and one last kiss
You have no idea;
how much you’ll be missed.
To look into your eyes;
this one last time
You tell me it’s ok
you know it’s your time.

Close your eyes now and
go to sleep.
I’ll pray to the Lord;
your soul he’ll keep.
Go in peace now;
my faithful friend
I’ll stay right here
with you until the end.

Dream of that special
day and time
When we’ll meet at the Bridge;
and all will be fine
We’ll run and play
side by side
with a soft warm feeling
deep down inside.

Your memory will live
on in my heart
you’ll always be #1 to me.
Have a safe journey
through the night
I promise when you awake
you’ll be in God’s light.

So with a heavy heart and
tears in my eyes
Just for now my friend;
I say goodbye.

Dedicated to my most
faithful friend.

I love you Lucky…

Lisa

They say memories are golden, well, maybe that is true. I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
A million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place no one else could fill. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I’d walk the path to Heaven and bring you back again. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us back one by one, the chain will link again.
