MY BABY BOY
Such big beautiful blue eyes. You were my gift to myself on Mothering Sunday in March 2005. The minute I set eyes on you I was hooked. You cried all the way home so I cuddled you to make sure you weren’t scared. We decided to call you Gizmo becuase of your wonderful big ears but because you were the baby of the family, we always referred to you as the Baby and it stuck, that was your name. Your new sisters Jasmine and Bonnie welcomed you like you were their own baby and the children adored you. You were such a noisy Boy and just wanted to talk to everyone. You were so clever, and learned lots of words and sayings that you responsed to – You loved your “hammy hammy” from the fridge, always at my feet the minute the fridge door opened, you knew to pick up your “mousey mousey” and bring it to me when I asked. You grew into a beautiful huge cat that was so heavy I could bearly carry you.

You were only 3 and a half years old and I feel so cheated that you have been taken from me so young. One day you were happy and well the next you were poorly – I guess I will never know what mystery illness took you from me so suddenly but my comfort comes from being able to hold you one last time after you fell asleep forever – my heart truly broke that day and I know I will never be able to replace you – I loved you so much. Jasmine and Bonnie are very down too they seem to know you have gone forever and even your newest little sister Daisy walks around calling for you – it breaks my heart. What will I do without you – the house seems so empty. I asked them to cremate you and let me have your ashes back in a lovely wooden cat figure so that you can continue to be with me until the day I die, you can stay with me in your favourite room our bedroom where we all used to sleep together in one big huddle. You gave me unconditional love and that meant everything to me.

Baby – I miss you more than words can ever say and I hope someday we will be together again in that special place you have gone to for beautiful, wonderful cats.
