The time we could never come to grips with has now come and gone. It was one of the saddest days we have ever had to endure when we had to say goodbye to you. You have been such a fixture in our life for so many years, always there for us with an unconditional love that never faded. There will always be a special place in our hearts and memories for you, Beau, and no one will ever
take that away from us.
We’ll never forget the day we found you, Jan 25, 1990 in Michigan. We drove through a blizzard just to look at some puppies and almost turned around because the storm was so bad. And when we finally found the place, you picked us and there was no going home without you. Ever since then and until the day we had to say goodbye, you were always there for us and us for you.
We were so lucky to have you and even though we moved 5 times you always called home wherever we were. As long as we could play fetch and find some water to swim, you were the happiest dog alive. We loved to watch you do what you loved best—retrieve and swim. You retrieved with the reckless abandon of someone whose life depended on “getting the stick.” You swam with grace, determination and power and never let a stick get away. These are just a few of the things that are forever etched in our memories.
Beau, we miss you terribly. Deep down we know you are now doing those things you loved so much that Father time had taken away from you. We know also that you are now with BJ, our beloved cat we also had to say goodbye to. You and BJ grew up together, slept on the same bed, and shared food with one another. And Beau, we know that someday we will be reunited to go for a walk, play fetch and
swim together again. Until that day…
Goodbye our beloved friend.
