Big’N had wandered around the neighborhood I moved into for 13 years before I got there. She was abandoned by her original owners and left at the mercy of others…everybody thought she was beautiful but nobody was willing to give her a permanent home…well, I move in and there she is with 1 pup and an older pup from another litter. I take her in and take her to the groomer and to the vet…she loved her baths!!
She would really strut around the neighborhood after that…she had breast cancer so Dr. Ryan Hammonds, the greatest vet (my opinion) operated on that, she had leaky eyes, so in lieu of eye drops every day (which she wouldn’t have tolerated) we got that fixed….she had arthritis so we put her on a daily supplement and Rimadyl…..we also had her spayed…even though the vet said she wouldn’t have more puppies, but it would help with her hormones….Rimadyl done her well and she was enjoying her life in my yard when someone chose to come up my driveway and cut thru my yard to go into theirs…they hit her and we took her immediately to the vet….she had surgery after that and she got to where she couldn’t move around very well….her quality of life was diminishing and I told old Big that if she needed to go, I would always miss her…and love her…but to go on…well, she was stubborn and wouldn’t so I had decided to have her put down on July 6…luckily and heartbreakingly for me, she passed on July 4, 1991…I got to spend a very short 5 years with her and I only regret that I didn’t get to spend 10 more…
I miss her and her sweet smiling face….she was the perfect animal and God only knows how much I miss her and love her…..I can’t wait til the day I get to see her again…it will probably be many more years, but I know God loves this angel….she was so precious!! She might have had it hard for awhile, but she adapted and lived indoors for the last 5 years of her life and she acted like the little DIVA she was…
God, take care of her for me and tell her Momma loves her…Daddy does, too…Miss you, Big…oh how I wish you were here!! PS I kept the 2 dogs she had with her as well and she gets to see them daily from the clouds…I love you BIG!!
