For Billy our friend and comforter
God gave you to as a rescue. Rene’e still remembers the way you would look at her pleading to be taken in. You were her wedding gift to me. You were my best friend. For almost 12 years you listened to my frustrations and pains my concerns and heartaches — people fail to realize that pastors have so very few places to go for support and acceptance. For almost 12 years you never broke a confidence repeated a story or told anyone else of my broken places. Billy you just carried them with you in dignity and strength. You were Rene’e’s source of security when I would be away preaching. You are the friend who brought us together and who we will never forget. I look forward to Heaven more now because I know that you will be there to greet us when we arrive.
