Boo Boo Bird by Roberta O’Steen

I fell from my nest one summer day
But onto the road I would not stay.
A man came along as
GOD had planned
And carried me home
in his loving hand.

I was just a baby all covered in down
There was not a feather to be found.
My human mom and dad loved me so
And with their love I began to grow.

To work everyday with
my dad I would go;
Because I had to be fed
every hour or so.
I would sit in the window and
sing while he worked
Knowing that soon my mom
would pick me up.

Today was my last day
with you mom and dad.
You tried your best
but GOD had another plan.
So don’t grieve
too long for now I’m free.
I’ve followed the path
GOD set for me.
I flew to HIM when
I heard HIM call;
I flapped my wings and left it all.

My time with you was all too brief
Don’t lengthen it with undue grief.
Look up above in the blue sky
Look real hard and
you’ll see your “Boo Boo” fly.
Listen as I sing for him
For he surely is the
KING of KINGS.
Lift up your head and share with me
God wanted me; HE SET ME FREE.

We miss you so much BIRD…

Love Mom and Dad.
