I wish that I could tell you,
Could somehow let you know,
I wanted you to stay with me.
And never let you go.

I wish that I could let you know,
How empty I now feel.
Part of my heart went with you,
That time can never heal.

No one understood us,
The bond that we both shared
No one ever really knew
How very much we cared

You were always there for me
A constant in my life
For 18 years you’ve been my friend
In times of fear and strife

With you I never ever felt
My sadness I should hide
You made me feel so calm and safe
Just sitting by my side

I wish I had you back again,
To see your precious face
Time will never fill
