My darling Champ,
You made me go on when I wanted to give up.
You kept me sane when insanity
battered at my soul.
You were the shoulder
that I cried on, my greatest strength.
You made me laugh and cry and
yell and swear, often all in the same day.
You were my best friend,
my companion on long quiet walks,
the love of my life.
You understood me and I understood you.
We were alike.
We were soulmates.
My life has been bettered
for having you in it and, I realize,
that having had you,
I can never lose you.
In my thoughts and dreams
you walk with me still.
In my heart you live and breathe.
