Buster by Jessica Theron / Mommy

We got buster when i was 7 years old. We got him from the local animal shelter because I had been nagging my parents for ages
about wanting a puppy.

When we got there buster was in the first cage at the entrance, and I fell in love with him the second I saw his big brown eyes and his high speed tail. We got to take him home two weeks later and I was so excited. Buster loved running, and he was fast. I would wake up some mornings and hear the grass ripping under his feet as he tore past my window. Bussies mix meant that he could jump very high, this earned him the name of Houdini because he was constantly escaping over the gate.

In 2005 we moved over seas and it was 2 long months before my beloved puppy came to join us. When he got here we realized something was wrong, he had a strange bump on his nose that caused nose bleeds. We took him to the vet and he told us that Buster had a fungal infection and that it would clear up in a few months on medication. The bump grew and eventually we found out it was cancerous. He never lost the sparkle in his eyes, the vet gave him 6 months to live, but buster was never one to follow rules. He stayed with us until march 2009.

I came home from writing exams and as I got to the door I felt an over whelming sense of loss and sure enough the house was empty. Buster had a seizure and my mom had come home from dropping us at school and taken him to the vet. The vet put my angel down and he undoubtedly went to heaven.

I still cried for three days, and I still miss him, even though sometimes I think I see him sleeping in the sunny spot on my bed like he always used to. But I will never forget him or the joy he bought to my life, he grew with me and I will always love him.
Goodbye Little man.

You will always be in my heart,
Buster
