WE WALKED THIS EARTH TOGETHER MY FRIEND

From the very first day you ran to me, until the very end
You walked this earth beside me as my very best friend.

What made me stop to watch you and family playing in the yard.
After losing a friend not long ago had put my emotions on guard.

But as sure of life’s mystery that is never put to test.
It’s the unexpected things in life that from above are blessed.

All the things we shared my friend are part of history.
Those very things we’ve done my friend, I’ve placed gently into memory.

It is now thoughts of you my friend, I know this is so.
For last night I again watched and held your head and had to let you go.

Last night I packed the teddy bears to ease the pain of sight.
But only thought of you, the way you looked last night.

Then I thought I saw you standing there, but it was sadly not to be.
It was just the thought of you, that years before I placed into memory.

To my beloved best friend
