Gabriella, Gabbi, Gabbi Girl, Gabzilla, Shook Shook, Crookshank, Shookie, Good ‘Ol Girl, Princess Gabbi, whatever name we called you, you always came, and loved us no matter what.
It has only been 25 days since you left us, and spared us the decision to have to “put you down”. How did you know? At 3:00 the vet was going to call us to let us know how you were doing, and at that time we were going to have to decide. You died at 2:30.
You were such a smart dog…why did you eat the defoliant you dug up in the mud at the lake? We never would have taken you there had we known there had been defoliant used there. There were no signs posted….we just wanted to take you swimming.
You were a young 9 years, and had so much life and love left to give. We miss you so much Gabbi! Every day, when we come home, you’re not at the door to greet us. Every time I bring home groceries, you’re not there rooting through the bags looking for your “cookies”. Every day at dinner, you’re not there, sitting with your legs crossed, just being a part of the “dinner hour”. Every night when we eat ice cream, you’re not there to lick the bowls. Every morning when I make coffee, you’re not there to give me morning kisses and get your cookie.
We don’t know how to let you go….you were the best dog ever! We will never forget you. We are so sorry that we didn’t know sooner, you’d been poisoned. We didn’t want you to suffer.
Gabbi, we love you, and know you are waiting in Heaven, on Rainbow Ridge for us. We’ll see you one day again. Until then, know how much we love and miss you Good ‘Ol Girl. We never got to say goodbye, or tell you how much you meant to us….
With all the love you gave to us and more,
