Songs Mama sang to you:
“Baby Face” – Baby Face, you got the cutest little baby face, worried face, baby face. Itchy Ears, you got the cutest little itchy ears.
This is the song Mama sang the most to you.
“Poochie Boy, O’ Our Little Poochie Boy” – to the tune of “Sailor Boy”
This was the first song Mama ever sang to you. We went on Karen’s graduation trip to California and on our return, I immediately burst into song. “Poochie Boy, O’ Our Little Poochie Boy we’ve come back to you.”
“It’s Leggo, Leggo Time” – to the tune of “It’s Howdy Dowdy Time”
This was your leg exercise song.
“I’m a Humpty Doodle Dandy” – to the tune of “I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy”
“Wake Up, Little Poochie, Wake Up” – to the tune of “Wake Up Little Susie, Wake Up”
This was your morning wake up song this last year and Mama would scratch and rub your tummy and sides until you stretched. This was a warm-up routine to start your day.
“I’m Itchy, I’m Itchy, I’m so, so Itchy” to the tune of “I’m to Sexy”
“I’m Itchy, I’m Itchy, I’m so, so Itchy. Scratch my back, scratch my neck, scratch my little ears. I’m Itchy, I’m Itchy, I’m so, so Itchy.”
Things we did:
When Mama would return home each day, you would greet me. You would rub your face on my face and neck to let me know you loved me and missed me. I would say to you “Love You, Missed You.” It was our way with each other.
When you were a little shaver, Pop and you would do MBT time together. MBT meant Male Bonding Time. Oh, how you both loved it.
You let Pop and Mama sleep in your bed with you.
You loved to talk to Grandma on the phone and you enjoyed her visits immensely.
You made Mama laugh. Oh, how you made everyone laugh!
