To my Raja bear!

Funny how empty the house is now.
Even with Zoe, Taja, Woodie, Dixie and our new member, Raleigh, the house is quiet without you in it. It’s almost summer and I think of you often. I know how much you love to lay in the gardens and watch all the birds fly about. In my memory, I still see you everywhere I look.

But, this isn’t about me. I want to tell you about your best friend Taja. Not long after you left us, I made a memorial DVD of your last few years here with us. One night, while watching it, Taja noticed you on the TV screen. You should have seen her. She jumped from my lap and went to sit in front of the TV. She watched the whole thing, then watched when I played it again. Then she reached up and put her paws on the screen and took a good long look. It was like she was saying “hey, its Raja”. “Where has he been.” I cried the whole time. Now, when she hears the music, she knows I’m playing the DVD and comes to watch. She misses you so! The whole first month you were gone, she would cruise the house at night howling. I know she was calling to you.

We all love and miss you so much. Raleigh wishes he could have met you but says “thanks” for giving him a new home and family.

Sending you all our love,
Lara James
