She joined our clan
as just a kit
So small and fluffy
no bigger than my mitt.

Her presence there
within our lives
charmed our hearts for three years,
and now,
We’ve not but sighs.

She was always small
dainty, petite
with just a tiny meow
and such bright eyes.

Then we found
she was so ill
the last year has been
IV fluids, warm blankets and pills.

In the end,
love had to suffice
and her girl cradled her
as she slowly died.

In God’s creation
we meet all kinds
but the love of a pet
so perfectly mirrors our Creator’s mind.

Into Your hands
we commend our friend
Pixie our kitten
Sending her, to You,
life without end. Amen
