You have to understand that my two Rotts lived the life you might have thought my wife gave birth to them. They sleep in the air condition in the summer’s months and they had their own heaters during the winter. They were loved by all of my children and grandchildren.

On May 4, 2010 I lost one of my two wonderful Rotts.
Millie and Ludwig were brothers and sisters from the same parents “Barron and Tiva”. Millie was 10 years old and Ludwig was 8 years old when he was taking from us.

Ludwig was the biggest and most lovable dog and from the time Ludwig left us I would talk to Millie about her brother and I feel like it was a mistake because within 3 & 1/2 months on September 8, 2010 I lost Millie. Two days before Millie left us she was laying in Ludwig house and I could not get her to come in for the night. I told Millie “what wrong do you miss fat boy? Do you want to stay outside for a little while longer? So I said to Millie it’s a nice night out so just let me know when your ready to come in.” Millie would always bark when she wanted to come inside for the night.

The next morning Millie was still in Ludwig dog house. I said to keep an eye on Honey (my wife) and the house have fun today because it’s going to be a nice day today, and I will see you when I get back from work. We kissed each other goodbye. That evening when I came home and Millie was still in Ludwig dog house. I pull her out and she just laid there and I was selfish and told Millie not to do this to me. I picked her up and carried her into the house.

That night I felt so bad for not wanting to be hurt again so I laid there with Millie until midnight brushing her and finally got enough courage to tell her if she wanted to go see Ludwig I would understand.

Millie is now running again with her brother Ludwig creating havoc. They will never have to leave each other again and they will never be too cold or too hot. The both of you will be united with your parent and they can see the two wonderful dogs you both grew up to be. They will be so proud of the both of you.

Millie foot prints are still embedded in the yard they both played in for so many years. It’s raining today and I know the rain will eventually wash their prints away but their memories will never leave us. I love you Millie and Ludwig and wish I can hold you both together again.

I love you both, Daddy

We will miss you both,
Michael Madrigal
