Misty,

I first saw you when I was learning to groom. You were 2 years old and your owner brought you in for a haircut and complained because you scratched the seats in her new BMW. That was the day I fell in love.

Over the next 2 years I groomed you fortnightly, during this time I found out you had never chewed a bone, played with a ball or gone for a walk and I always dreaded taking you home to that concrete run where you were being kept all alone. Until the day came when your owner decided you were too much trouble. That was one the happiest days of my life. I took you straight to the vet to have painful teeth removed and get treatment for your epilepsy. We became inseparable for the next 6 years.

Slowly your epilepsy got worse despite the medication and your eyesight started to deteriorate but it was the last straw when you hurt your back and I couldn’t hold you anymore without it hurting. On your 10th birthday I had to make the decision to say goodbye.

I miss the way you bounced like a yo-yo and kicked me in the back while I was preparing your dinner and the nights we spent up when I comforted you through your seizures and you helped me
through all my troubles.

I want to thank you for being there when no one else was and for keeping me going when life seemed too hard,
you will never be forgotten.
