My two angels Polly and Waffle (English Springer Spaniels) are both in Heaven now. They were from the same litter. Polly was in my life for 12 and half years and Waffle for 14 and a half.
They were my children and my life.
It was absolutely devastating to have to send them to Heaven, but it really was the kindest thing for them.
I had them both cremated and their beautiful identical cedar boxes sit side by side on ‘their’ table in our loungeroom. I decorate their boxes at Christmas and place little Easter eggs on them at Easter.
I keep their memory alive.
They will live forever in my heart.
I have placed sunflowers on their table so whenever I see sunflowers anywhere, whether it be as flowers or decorations on items in shops, I think of my babies. I wear a small sunflower charm (along with others)
around my neck in their honour. Since I have learned of the Rainbow Bridge poem (I didn’t know anything about it until a good friend gave it to me), whenever I see a rainbow in the sky or, as before, as decorations in shops, I think of my babies.
It’s a wonderful way to remember them, although of course I would never be able to forget them anyway.
Whenever I see rainbows or sunflowers,
I believe it is a sign from them saying, ‘hi Mum’.
They make my heart smile.

Keep the rainbows and sunflowers coming my angels,
