When I was asked if I wanted a kitten three years ago I thought “Me with a cat but I am a dog person” one of the many thoughts that ran through my head. Well I decided to take a chance why not I knew the owner and I missed having a pet around (my two dogs live in florida with my brother and sister). So there I was with an amazing red tabby that I named Scarlett (Gone with the Wind). I soon learned that Scarlett had a terrible disease that every cat owner knows about FELV. So I took chance number two not to put her down and love her unconditionally. Of course you know in your heart that anything can happen with this disease but you just keep going. Unfortunatly I did not get a third chance I had to put Scarlett down a year ago today. At first I could not deal with the loss but after a while i started to realize that this was not a chance a took but a gift I recieved Scarlett taught me how to love uncoditionally and take nothing for granted in this life because it may only be for a short time.
