There is a time in everyones lives
When something is missing
We don’t know what, or why.
Then a light so strong, shows the way
In only a moment,it brought you our way.
With anticipation I awaited your arrival
like a mother awaits her unborn.
I held you in my arms for what seemed liked
forever.
Little did I know,it was only a moment
we would be together.
Through good times and bad
You were there with your loving ways.
To rest your head on my lap
on my most desperate days.
Your always knew how to make me smile.
And for only a moment I’d forget
all my trials.
The happiness you showed me
just from my simple arrival.
To the days we would play
made me young like a child.
The long naps we would share,
and my secrets you would keep.
If I had only known it was only a moment,
I’d have written every moment and saved it
for you and me.
I was there for the miracle of your
babies arrival.
You made the trials of labor seems
trivial and mild.
Some say its instinct, and key to survival.
What I saw was a mother lovingly caring for
her child.
Your children brought out the best in you.
Your love and firece protection.
I so looked up to you.
As they grew they became your closest friends.
If they only knew,it was only a moment they would be in the grace of soul so
pure and true.
I still can’t understand. What happened that
fateful day.
A day like every other.
Filled with happiness and play.
Like a flash of life before me
You were so helpless and so scared.
I pleaded through my tears
Please help my beloved friend.
I didn’t know that in only a moment
it would be the end.
They said they did all they could.
Your injuries were great.
How could I let you suffer?
What a wicked twist of fate.
I gathered all my courage
still feeling like a failure.
It was to be only a moment
and you would leave us forever.
I held you tight and told you
I loved you.
Your eyes they showed they understood.
One last kiss and you rested your head
and took your last living breath.
Through my tears I found strength, For I knew that in only a moment
you would be at Heavens gates.
The pain still is strong. The tears don’t
seem to fade.
It’s just not the same with out you.
I can’t look out and see you napping in the shade.
Sometimes I think you still hear me,
When I talk to you.
For only a moment
I hear you coming in the room.
I will see you again my friend.
I don’t know how long I’ll be.
You see I still have things to do here.
Please tell me you’ll wait for me.
I promise it won’t be too long,
before we can be together.
Life on earth is only a moment.
And then we’ll be together forever.
