I was volunteering at an animal shelter and Cooper was an injured stray. On his last day before he would be euthanized (no home could be found) I took him home and he gave me his friendship for ten years. He was goofy looking–grey and white with impossibly long legs and a short tail that made him look like Bugs Bunny from the back. But everyone who ever met him fell in love with his unique personality. He was there for me during some of the more difficult days of my life and saw me through some tough times. I believe he was meant for me, and I was so very lucky no one claimed him at the shelter. He was the best friend I ever had and not a day goes by that I don’t think of him.
