Cori Maxwell was my 8.5 year old male golden retriever. He was diagnosed with mast cell cancer grade 3 in October 2010. He had 4 surgeries to remove tumors and clean up the scars. He underwent 8 rounds of chemo and was doing well. He was a real trooper throughout the entire ordeal. I thought everything was going well when he just suddenly collapsed in front of me on Wednesday June 8, 2011 and was gone in an instant. It was not cancer related but some other medical issue but I’ll probably never know what.
Cori came to live with me on February 2, 2003 when he was 8 weeks old (birthday 11/30/2002). He was a very active boy. He started out terrorizing my 18.5 year old dachshund and my other two goldens, Echo and Shayna Casey. My sofa has the scars of Cori’s puppyhood! He was such a love it was hard to be mad at him when he ate the arms on the sofa and when he would take my plastic dishes from the sink and tear them up. He was a cutie! When Shayna died in December 2003 Cori became the alpha dog.
Cori you are missed by your 13.5 year old golden brother Echo, your 7 year old golden sister Calyn Bree, your 3 year old golden sister Talor, your 7 year old corgi mix sister Bella and your 6 year old corgi mix rival Cisco Kid. And most of all by me your loving mom. Part of me is lost without you!
