Corky by Susi Nelson / SusiMom

Sweet Corky-

I didn’t find you until you were 11 years old-but I fell totally in love with you and tried to make up for all the hard times you had in your life. You survived so much-how many times did I stay up with you all night? One Christmas you almost died-so I fed you by hand, with a makeshift dropper, skipping my own holiday dinner. 6 years passed-cataracts grew on both your eyes, your hearing went, arthritis set in-still you wanted to stay with me. But we knew you were suffering-so finally Papa made the decision to let you go.

Forgive me for not being there with you, Corky! He wouldn’t let me-so this is my atonement-rest easy, furbaby.
See you at the Bridge-wait for me!
