You have taught us to love unconditionally, a gift from you alone. With your spirit as our guide, this gift we will share. Your amazing life will forever be etched in our memory; your legacy will live on. You crossed over the bridge just three days shy of your thirteenth birthday, the sadness runs deep, the tears are still falling, but the memories will never fade.
We will never forget the day that we brought you into our lives and forever into our hearts. As we progressed into puppy training, with you on our lap, the instructor tried to caution about making you a “lap dog”, but we wanted you close, so a lap dog you became. As you grew bigger the laps got smaller, but you always found a way to sit next to us, offering comfort and love.
Just as you grew, our love got stronger. You were our rock, our guide, our bond. Not many know, but your name alone bears those who lives you touched the greatest. Your love brought us together during the rough times and your gift taught us to love each other unconditionally. Our bond will never be broken, you taught us to live life to the fullest, to love the greatest and to be forever faithful.
You welcomed our children into your heart, protecting them, as they were your own. Guiding and teaching them your legacy, your love, your devotion, your patience, with this your spirit will live on.
Today we grieve, for your departure hurts so much. We know the time of crossing was to come, for your eyes told us as much. You will never be forgotten, this is not good-bye…just time apart my sweet boy, DJ, for we will meet again.
