I adopted Damascus from the Humane Society shortly after I moved into my first apartment. He had been brought to the society twice before I took him home for good. He was the sweetest dog who made everyone that ever met him smile. He was the most independent, sweet, hardheaded dog that I’d ever met. He was my first and only “child.” I took him on car rides, we traveled together, and he visited his grandparents on a regular basis. On one trip he decided that he would chew holes in my dad’s shoes, the shoes survived, barely. Another time he took my grandparent’s large dobbie on a walk around the yard by holding his rope. My dog loved the country life that we lived in and he will always be there forever. He was hit by a car this weekend when we traveled too far from home. His best friends were with him and I thank god every day that they weren’t killed too, but I will always miss and love my baby. His death affected many people and he will always have a place in many people’s lives.
I love you baby!
