I don’t know where to start or from when to start.
Draco is no longer as I am typing these words.
At least not here physically but in our hearts ..Yes.
It was nice warm sunny Texan day on the 26th of Aug 2000.
We drove down to get this new family member of ours from the
Lone Star Boxer Rescue….and the rest is history.
Draco entered our home and our hearts and he has taken a
permanent position.
Draco is one big gentle boxer…so full of love and silliness.
Draco loved to swim after the ducks chase the squirrels give
guinea fowls heart attacks and terrorize cats.
Then one day Draco fell sick. He started throwing up,
stopped eating and everytime he went to poop there
were streaks of blood.
Draco boy was taken to the specialist and they did an exploratory
surgery on him….Draco was diagnosed with a rare and
fatal fungal disease called pythiosis.
The vets wanted to put Draco to sleep.
We brought Draco back where he belonged and we started
on a holistic treatment.
The road ahead was rocky but we had hopes….and
love in out heart……..and he had the fighting spirit.
Draco showed some improvement with the treatment.
Then we went to India to visit our family.
Draco was with a lady in a farm and he apparently had a nice time.
I am sure he missed us but he had fun nevertheless.
He was so happy to see us and our life was again complete.
27 days after coming back Draco seemed to be a little sick.
He was panting and drooling…but it was a weekend and I thought
first thing on Monday will be to call the vet. At 3.05 a.m,
Monday early morning Jan 28th 2002..
Draco cried out and while in my arms he left for the Bridge.
Draco we love you very very much….
you will always be in our hearts.
