Duddley DoRight by Donna Donhauser / Mom , Tony and the kids

When God had made the earth and sky, the flowers and the trees He then made all the animals the fish, the birds and bees. And when at last He’d finished not one was quite the same. He said, “I’ll walk this world of mine and give each one a name.” And so He traveled far and wide and everywhere He went, a little creature followed Him until it’s strength was spent. When all were named upon the earth and in the sky and sea,the little creature said, “Dear Lord, there’s not one left for me.” Kindly the Father said to him, “I’ve left you to the end. I’ve turned my own name back to front and called you dog, My friend”.

Duddley passed away peacefully doing one of his favorite things….We were taking him to be euthanized, we put the front passenger seat fully back and gently placed Duddley on the seat. I climbed into the back and pet his ears and kissed the top of his head and told him how wonderful he was. As we entered the city across from the Humane Society, Duddley lifted his head, nuzzled Tony’s leg and gave me a smile. He lifted his head to the open window and took a big breathe, then he put his head back down and and I felt him totally relax…I said to Tony “I think he is gone”. We pulled into the Humane Society and, sure enough, Duddley had finally let go. They were caring and wonderful. Respectably taking his body in to be cremated.

Duddley passed away at 5:15 pm May 13, 2010. I miss him already.
