Emmy you came to me out of the blue. You were so bedraggled and sad with no loving home. You were deaf but you always knew when I was near with your supper and warm milk. I tried my best for you. You were so scared but we won each other over in the end. I remember so clearly the night I managed to catch you, it was freezing. You were getting so frail and ill, that you let me in the end. Despite the hissing and scratching we became friends. You even purred the last few days.
You at least had warmth and comfort as the end drew near. Be at peace my dear sweet Emmy, know that I tried my best for you. You will always be in my heart.
