Fiona by Heather / Mom and Daisy

I have had a dog named Daisy since November of 2000. Daisy has had many health problems, and I grew so close to her that I was worried I wouldn’t be able to go on if anything was to ever happen to her. I decided to get another dog, to be her companion and mine as well.

My mom and I picked up my little Fiona from the airport on November 10 2004. She was almost three months old. So tiny and scared in her cage, I took her out and she licked me like she knew me for years. We were meant to be together.

When we got home, Daisy felt jealous, but we gave both dogs the same love and affection and they grew to be great friends. In January 2005, I bought a house in the city and took my two girls with me to what I thought was the safest place we all could be. We have a big yard where they can run and a fence to keep them safe and out of harms way.

On April 6 2005, I got home from work and was welcomed by the joyful barks of both of my girls. They went outside and then we all went to bed. Sometime during the day, Fiona went outside, her favorite place to be. When I woke up, she wasn’t in bed with me. So I took Daisy outside and called and called for Fiona. She didn’t come. I thought she ran away somehow. But as I stepped off my deck, my heart dropped as I saw something white floating in my swimming pool. I thought I might be able to save her, but it was too late. She was already gone.

Fiona gave so much love in the short amount of time I had with her, and she will always be loved and remembered by everyone who knew her. I know she is watching over us, she was always a great protector. Fiona, I love you and miss you and I look forward to the day when we can all be together as a family.

Love Always,
Fiona
