We rescued Freeway from California while on vacation visiting our daughter. She spotted him hurt and in shock near a freeway. We had him flown back to Chicago where after a year of treatment, it was decided to amputate his left front leg. He was with us for 9 1/2 years and was just the light of our life. He was so devoted and protective of us and always happy to see us. Freeway had cancer the last year of his life and fought like a trooper, until his final days where the soul went out of his eyes. We made the decision to let him go so he could go to Rainbow Bridge to run and play with all the other animals. We will see you again Freeway, we will always love you and we will miss you.
