Gengi by Gary Hoover / Gary

My best friend was born 6/11/2000. A white and gold female Shih Tzu and we named her Gengi. I bought her for my wife and she picked her out of two females they were selling. Gengi was around me always so she bonded to me. Everywhere I would go she would be right there. I even taught her to sit up and pray. Everybody was amazed by the way she would hold her paws together as I was telling her to pray. Then I would give her a treat.

She became my very best friend. I sometimes thought about the day when she would be not be with me anymore I knew that would be a tough one for me to handle so I would try not think about it. I always thought she would be with me for about 12 to 15 years. Well that did not happen and I miss her so much.

Gengi became very weak on 8/21/2005 and I took her to the emergency vet. It seemed that Gengi had come down with the disorder called AIHA where her immune system was destroying her red blood cells. I kept taking to my vet and on 8/22/05 the vet gave her a blood transfusion. I finally decided to take her to Kansas State University on 8/26/05. I did not want to lose her.

Gengi passed away at 5:00 pm on Saturday 8/27/05. I tried to do everything I could but I lost her I still am having a very hard time dealing with losing her. Gengi had just turned 5 years old. I wished that was something I could have done.

I miss my best friend and she will forever be in my heart.

You are still my little girl, with love,
Gengi
